Description

The Roland CompuRhythm CR-78 is a drum machine launched in 1978. Although primitive by later standards, the CR-78 represented an important advance in drum machine technology at the time, in particular by allowing users to program and store their own drum patterns.

Roland CR78: Vienna bass and snare

As I teach myself to be a better sound engineer on my home setup, I'd like to turn the weedy Roland CR78 samples I've transferred to my Steinberg Groove Agent into something a lot more powerful-sounding. This is a useful exercise in EQ and FX for me. So far, I've done rather poorly - the bass drum in particular just sounds worse.

Analogue Inputs/Outputs

Hi,

I'm using an old Roland CR-78 drum machine. It has both Hi Imp. and Low Imp. outputs on the back (taking mono 1/4" jacks).

Is it safe to use both of these at the same time or will i kill the machine? It would enable me to have one clean channel (High Imp.) and another channel (Low Imp.) running through a chain of effects. Both going into my mixer.

Midi/Analogue Sync Set-up help needed!

Hi,

I'm in the process of putting together my small live/studio set up and aside from the individual bits of hardware on my list, i need to know what else i might need to tempo sync it all together and check I'm not missing anything (there's a tight budget involved you see!)
