I need to find a good mix room with a vintage Neve or API that is automated. Any suggetstions?

i WAS wondering if there are any chat rooms that catter to the recording industry as far as what we talk about hear where i can get a faster response. No offense i luv all yall. But is there a chat room site?

I currently use a pair of U87s (new style) for Overheads and RODE NT1s (no sniggering please) for the room. I'm looking for a pair of mics to use mainly as room (XY) but to also be an occasional alternative to the 87s for OH (when using the 87s as room mics)

I know there are pro's and con's of EQing your room, but I wanted to get some feedback. I've been moving my monitors around, putting Auralex up (and bass traps), but I don't know if the overall effect of putting in a parametric or graphic EQ (with inherent phase shifts) is overall, better than dealing with frequency inadequacies and having to "learn the room".

here's my studio space in a rough computer sketch. I need to build a wall where the dotted line is, and it has to isolate sound pretty well without spending a lot of money ;)
any like, parts list, price estimate, or material ideas much appreciated

With another thread brought up regarding the sh*tty sound in pro-tools...I was left thinking today as I sat at a contol-24 - Playing with the 7k mouse, I started to dwell upon the premise of that the only sound of pro-tools (other that converters and plugs)is the summing math of the software.

I am interested in the allocated headroom that you guy's leave for each instrument.
Although this is really a question in regard to Digital work stations the RMS equivalent would also be of interest.

Question #1: The maximum peak level allocated to a drum kit e.g. -18 (digital) -3vu ?

. where the mixes don't boom when I go somewhere else and hit play.

Does anyone know what makes a good drum room? High ceilings? Cedar panelling? Any tips are info you guys have gathered along the way would be great.
