I could post photos and descriptions of progress thus far if anyone is interested. I figure I'm at about the half way point right now...

So i am a guitar player, i also play drums though. I am looking to start recording some demos. coincidentally i am in the market for a new computer and i think I've settled on a macbook pro. is this a good one for recording. i only have a minimal amount of info and i don't really know where to begin.

Apple has released Logic Studio and Logic Express 8.

They are priced very well at $499 and $199. I will be picking up a copy very soon. I've been waiting for 8 to come out before purchasing Logic, and was not looking forward to the old $1200 price tag.

Has anyone taken the plunge? What do you think?

Being disabled and really not able to do much other than record some stuff in my bedroom I wanted to get something easy to use yet be able to make a semi pro quality CD.

I was looking at the Yamaha AW2400, would that be a good choice?

Hello everyone. now this may be somewhat of a "taboo" topic...but I'm very curious an no one can seem to give me a figure. I was wondering how much, on average, a professional studio engineer makes a year. Any ballpark figures would be nice...I know it depends on may factors...but just humor me. Thanks. (if any actual professional engineers wouldn't mind sharing, that would be great)

Hello all. I am new here. I recently purchased a new house and I plan to start building a home studio. Im hoping to get rolling on this project this fall so I have begun researching my options. I have a feeling that it is going to be a bit tricky. I plan to convert my upstairs loft which isn't hugh but it is a decent size area. My main concern is isolation; particulaly from the outside world.

I need some advice on what gear i should buy to help me record at home, have already have speakers and a computer, but i need some advice on what mixer (or something like that) to record with. On the mixer i will need about 8 mic inputs, for a drum kit! I'm looking to spend about £200-300.

If anyone can help that would be great.
