Ok, first post on RO ond I'm really happy that I found this place. Seems very helpful on multiple levels. Background: Keyboard player of about twenty years. Got into computer based sequencing about four years ago. Got my first real DAW about 2.5 years ago. I currently sequence with Cubase SX 3 and I want to continue to use it.

Are Mackie SRM-350 powered monitors really studio quality?

Ok I hope I'm not asking a stupid question but when Mackie claims that the SRM powered monitors are of "studio" quality are they kidding? Could those speakers actually be used to do basic tracking, and mixing? Cause at the same price as the Mackie studio monitors it sure would be sweet if one could use them for both stage and studio.

What would macgyver do?

Steinberg Cubase Studio 4 or SX/SL3?

Just wondering what you guys think. I'm doing my own comparisons online also.

What are some of the different tools on each that you guys found especially useful? What is the SL3 "Hybrid" version?

I do basic audio and midi single-track recording, editing, and am learning to do some mastering. I've been using Cubase SE for about a year now and am thinking of upgrading.

hey. I have just got a set of edirol MA 15D self powered monitors for my Alesis Multimix (firewire) mixer. in the manual for the multimix is says to connect the monitors to Control room out. I cannot do this because the only ways of connecting the monitors is either by using an rca cable from the outs of my mixer, to the ins (rca of my monitors).
