Newbie - Home studio setup - HELP!
This is my first post here so I would like to say hello to everyone. I've been looking for a forum like this a few days now and all I have to say is that I'm amazed by the content I found here.

Hi,
i myself am pretty new to this whole beuatiful thing and have a quite low budget, so i have decided to stick with my Sony headphones(which are the MDR V-300, which are decent) for mixing my stuff untill i bundle up enough money for a decent set of monitors..
what do u guys think.
Whats up?
Im putting together a project / budget studio and I'm trying to get the best sound I can.
Unsure of a few things though.
First off the main thing to be recorded will be Rap and R & B.
hi all. i'm getting close to spending a bit of dough on a nice pair of monitors that i hope i'll be proud to own for the rest of my life. my research so far has led me to believe that a pair of either atc scm 20asl (thanks sanity inn for your help on that) or something in a similar size and price by pmc would do the trick.
Hi...
I want to buy a Mixer for my home studio that will be used to record artists in the near future that is capable of achieving professional results.
Im basically after something small.. I feel that 14 channels would be enough for the time being...I'm willing to spend about 300-350 (ebay figures lol) any recommendations?
Hi, I have a problem with wiring my setup for multi-track recording. I currently am running a 24-track Behringer mixer, and mixing down into two tracks which run into a Delta 1010. Then, that runs into my computer via the PCI card included with the interface. All of the audio is mixed with Sonar 3 Producer Edition.
Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade my system soon. I've got 16 channels of instrument/mic sources, an 8-track DAW interface and four 2-track recording devices (Otari MX5050-BII, DV interface, VCR and cassette) I want to be able to plug all those into one place and pretty much never have to rewire anything.
In my quest for a cheap but decent mixer I came across an old
Soundcraft Spirit Studio for about $600 US at a local store.
It's bigger than I need but how does it sound?
As I mentioned in another post...
I'm looking for a stop gap solution while I'm saving for a "higher end" Preamp.
I am just curious as to what all you studio people get in the way of deposits and what your terms are in that regard. I got screwed over twice this Winter and it really hurt. Both projects were scheduled when I first started the biz and I just didn't plan them well enough. I would have kept any deposit I got and done OK otherwise.
