Can somebody please advise what could be the a recommended low/medium-budget setup in order to do excellent voice-over recordings for promos, commercials, spots, jingles.



Please include all the hardware (mic, pre-amp, compressor, EQ, mixer, etc ., - excluding the PC) and software components required.

Kurt. once again I need your assistance and advice! I have had BAD LUCK with CDR's! My Phillips 808 and 765 were short lived,one crackles, one doesn't record anymore. Is there a decent CDR out there at a LOW price? Or were mine just too early in the development? Or am I being too cheap?Are there some specs I need to be looking for?

OK so I'm graduating from Trebas this fall and have learned a ton of stuff about gear. I have got recommendations from teachers and read reviews now I'm curious to know what you all think. Here is a list of some products I am considering and why I want them. Please let me know of comparable products and which ones of these might be foolish purchases!

Event studio precision monitors

I'm putting together a modest home "studio" for recording primarily voice and acoustic guitar. I'm thinking I'll get a Korg D1200 PDS. I'm considering two from the following: RODE NT1, Audio-Technica 3031, 3035 (are any good for either purpose? am I wasting money by not getting something better?).

Let us start a thread on here of what would you consider the essential gear for a nice small project studio, limited to a $20k budget.



I start with:



* 2 Sebatron 4 channel Mic preamps

* 2 RNC's

* 1 used PT TDM Mix with an ADAT bridge or 888/24

* 1 used G4 733/800/933 with a 1t" ordinary screen
