Hi there, I hope someone to tell me why Yamaha ns-10m is placed in every major studio around the world, is it the great choice for nearfield monitoring , I have a pair Genelec 1030 with tannoy Sub 10 a I think the sound is great,but musicans looking for Yamaha ns -10,,,,Whyyyyyyyyy ?

I want to upgrade my equipment
I was wondering if anyone has used any of the studio projects
mics as drum overheads and what the results were. Just curious

i have a partner that has has passive 20/20's. he's gonna upgrade to the asp8's.. passive or active soon.. but right now he has a problem mixing.. it takes him a while to get the right sound. could this be b/c the amp.. he has a pioneer home amp.. its like 120x5... he's only using 2ch of it..
i told him to pick up a Qsc, crown hafler.. etc amp off ebay..

Considering I can't get anything too pricey, how do you feel these options compare (or if they're utterly useless) :

I'm fed up with my Roland digital 8 track recorder; the zip drive constantly crashes and I've lost more than one song. so. I want to convert my studio to a PC based system. The problem is that I know nothing about recording with a PC. I know that there are many easy to use systems and I'll look into which one is best for me.
What determines the rate you should charge?
Is it the amount of money that you *can* get? Or is it the amount of money that you *deserve* to get, based on industry standards and your equipment, experience, location, and skill?
