How do you set up a subwoofer properly?
Ok. this is probably a dumb question, but where should I place my subwoofer in my room. As of now I have my subwoofer under my desk and centered. The one problem I have is that I still mix in too much bass. If I stand up and move around my room I hear a drastic increase in the sub. Should I walk around my room, find where I hear the sub the most, and place it there?

Can anyone recommend a subwoofer for use w/ NS-10's?
Greets all,
I'm considering picking up a pair of NS-10 monitors and would like to extend their low freq range with a subwoofer.
Any recommendations?
Thanks much,

Speakers and Subs: What's in YOUR wallet, er...studio?
Here's another topic for consideration.
What are you monitoring/mixing on, and do you have a sub as well? Any favorites? (Any LEAST favorites?)
msp5 / auratones / subwoofer
Okay, so after thinking and reading alot, I think I'm going to stick with my msp5s for mixing. I feel like they're accurate - the only gripe I have is low-end.
I'm adding some auratones through a haefler amp for some hi-fi (low-fi) mix-checking.
I'd also like to add a subwoofer for just checking how it sounds down there once in a while. I won't actually mix with it on.

Should I be keeping my subfrequencies mono?
I have come to a point where I now need to start mixing my songs. My setup is mostly software-based and the problem I have, or don't have is this:

How to connect a subwoofer if you've only got two outs
I have a pair of Genelec 1029A active monitors and am considering buying the subwoofer to go with them. But how should I connect it? I have a Behringer MX 2642A desk and an Audiowerk 2 card. At the moment the two outs from the card go into the desk group ins. How would the signal get split into the "bass" bit and the "rest"? Where do the cables go?
adding powered subwoofer to monitors...
hey I have a set of M-Audio BX5 monitors that I use 80% of the time just to listen to music. I'd like to add a powered subwoofer to give it some kick. I don't want a reference sub, and I will isolate the sub when doing any mixing anyhow. I can get a sub at wholesale from work easily, but my problem is how to interface it...

PA amp for subwoofer
I'm looking into sub amps to drive a pair of Stryke Audio AV12 subs. Ideally I'd like 1kw of power each into 4 ohms, but due to the cost my preference at present is for a local Biema PA amp which puts out 450w x 2 into 4 ohms and costs $AUD 450 on special. (Available at Altronics)

To Sub or Not to Sub?

Got a question about subs for monitoring. Currently I have a pair of krk v6's, probably a little to midrage for my liking but i have learnt them, so I'm kinda used to 'em now.
