I've been using with very great satisfaction Syntrillium CoolEdit 2000 for a long time, but now that for other reasons I changed my hardware platform and adopted Windows-7 x64, this software is not compatible any more.
Though I could run it with the "XP-Mode" virtualization, I'd prefer to direct myself to a newer software.

My drummer just got an electronic drum kit for practicing and he wants to be able to do basic recordings with its midi interface and all that and was asking for recommendations on programs he could use. Is there something really basic and free out there that I could recommend to him for just recording with his drum set?

Hi, I was hoping someone could help me figure this out. I have an m-audio 2496 that I have used before without problems. I built a new computer and transferred the card to it about 3 months ago. I just tried to start recording again using Sonar, but now every time I record something it has this strange bump/warble sound to it.

I need some software to create simple back tracks of basic rock, metal and blues tracks. Band in a Box for PC looks like a good solution. I can't locate a demo version and have never used such software. Does the program come with any sound loops I'd need, or do I have to buy that separately?

I am a guitar teacher and want to get some software I can use to make some 'jam tracks' with which students can explore soloing. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a simple background, a little rock group or blues combo.

I currently have EZdrummer. Its ok but the installation process was brutal. It works pretty good and I can get some decent sounds. Was wondering if there are anything else on the market now that is both easy to use and intuitive as well as has a plthora of beats.

I am using Logic Pro and I have enabled Software Monitoring to hear my self singing with some effects on, but I am hearing a delay when I sing. I have tried lowering the Buffer Size and Recording Delay and still the delay does not seem to go away.
