Need Mix Feedback on this, Hoping to Make a "Template, sort-of" for the 7 other Songs on the CD

Wasn't sure which forum to use, but I think I'm in the right place.
Hi, people. this is my first song that I have mixed for an 8 song Rock CD that I am producing, and my first posting here. I need your feedback on all the elements here, as this will be somewhat of a "template" for the other songs on the CD, once I've got this one sounding good.

new song

This is one of several new songs I'm working on for an album
this one is the closest to being done. Just need to add some backing vocals/harmonies on chorus and outro and a final keyboard track.

(Dead Link Removed)

any mix/production thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Windows Media won't play another song

I am having such a problem with my Windows media player only playing something once and then I have to reboot my computer it to play another song.
If I don't close it, I can keep it going to another song but if I close it, I have to reboot everytime.

This is driving me bonkers. Its been doing this a about a year and I'm fged up. Any help would be so appreciated.

How do professional songwriters translate their written vocals to the clients?

This is what I've done so far:
- I've written lyrics that I'm happy with (text + notes for each word + characteristics for the lines).
- I've layed out the melody as a fake piano ontop of the instrumental track.
- I've analyzed what's the most practically useful method of recording, to minimize the amount of vocal tracks to be working with.

Mastering a song with musical dynamics: ppp to FFF

By dynamics, I mean the type that musicians play, from soft to loud.

So how do I get that rock punch when the track has soft verses and loud choruses? On the chorus it's all good, I just set my compressors, etc., and the meters kick.

But on the verses, it's all below the threshold. Can't lower the threshold on the verses without squashing the loud choruses.

Is it possible to use the H4N to listen to a karaoke song while recording voice?

Hello all, I recently bought the H4N and I'm more than happy with it. It's just great but I have a doubt. I would like to record some songs (karaoke versions) but I can't find a way to play the song in the H4N while using headphones so the mic doesn't pic up the song, and, at the same time, record my voice on a different track.
