Sony PCM-M10 phantom power question .
Hi all, first question here ! Nice to find this place ...
I have a pair of CA-14 mics, 1 card, 1 omni mics to go with my Sony PCM-M10 .
Im wondering if the built in phantom power is enough for either pair of mics for around 2 hours .?
A short test sounded great with the omnis . I plan on recording a guitar player only at a local theater .

Edirol R-09 vs. Sony PCM-M10
I've narrowed down my choices to the Edirol R-09HR and the Sony PCM-M10. Both appear to get a lot of praise, but I'd like to post a final question before I pony up the dough.
I'll be using the recorder for a fair amount of on-location interviewing, using the recorder with an external omnidirectional mic. In home, I'll run a mixer to it from multiple sources.

Newbie Questions: Sony PCM-M10
Hello all - brand new here. I'm interested in making found sound recordings and picked up this Sony portable recorder. I'm still getting to know it, but have a basic question: will the on-board limiter actually adjust the incoming signal, or will it apply a post-recording filter to the wav file?

Sony PCM D50 - Recording speeches
Hi Pros …
Please help me optimize my digital field recorder – Sony PCM D50 for recording speeches (vocals).
Work I do:
I volunteer at a spiritual organization. Been doing it for long time. I record spiritual discourses. It’s always one speaker – male with a deep bass voice.

Sony vs. Sennheiser Phones
I am going to be buying 4 of the same headphones for live recording purposes (not mixing) But I can't decide which model to buy. My budget is around $100 per each set. I've been looking at the $100 models from Sony and Sennheiser and what I'm looking for in this purchase is durability, comfort with prolong use and nice isolation rather than sonic accuracy.
Which would you recommend?

Sony TC-580
I have done quite a bit of research on this piece and even though it is renown for it's horrible Auto-Revers mechanisms, I still wonder if it would be a good piece for me to start out my venture of analog recordings.

Sonar? Sony Acid?
PROS DONT KILL ME! just asking for some input/opinions.
I'm using an emu 1212M audio interface, windows XP SP3. i use outboard compressors, eq's, and gates, and effects. the most VST plugins i would use are maybe some odd effects here and there and drum and bass VSTI's.
I'm recording both single tracks one at a time and bands playing together all at once.

I currently own the Sony MDR-EX700LP earphones but I was wondering since they are top of the line from Sony can I use these for studio use? I thought that since these are high-endearbuds that they will play exactly how the music is recorded. They normaly cost $300 but I got them for $200 on Amazon.com
