SPDIF and splitters
1. Can I use a "y" splitter on the output of an ADC to go to 2 different DAW's for mixdown?
2. Can I hook all my S/PDIF in's and out's to say a RCA patchbayto have different patching options?
Sorry if this sounds so elementary to you advanced digital users, but I have searched all morning.
Oh and:

9652 S/PDIF question
Hi. I have a nuendo 9652 sound card. It only has S/PDIF out for monitoring. Can I use my Echo Gina card to Monitor my 9652 card.
Thanks,

HEDD + G5 spdif
Hey boys,
Love this forum, despite the fact I'm more a musician than an engineer. Only been reading a week or so, but is it just us guys, or are there any women on the forum?
Anywho, I'm looking at the HEDD 192. Can I S/PDIF it into my g5 through the g5's stock spdif-in for stereo tracking into Logic, or would I need to get one of these AES interface cards?

sampling into DVC and CD (direct or SPDIF)
I'm trying to do a video project AND a CD.
The DV link brings the audio from the video in at 48K.
I used the Wavelab converter to change the sample rate to 44.1K
My ears don't detect any audible difference.
However, I need answers to these questions.

light pipe vs. . S/PDIF vs. . aes/ebu: which do YOU use?
I have heard rumors lately that ADAT lightpipe is on the lower end of the quality spectrum when it comes to patching digital audio signals.
Anyone heard the same?
Are any of you using ADAT transfer during your projects with satisfying results?
Passing quality digital through cheap spdif
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if passing the signal from a high quality converter to my PC via a cheap interface will cause degradation. I have a cheap Edirol interface through which I'd like to pass a stereo signal from Apogee converters. I don't want to have to buy something like an RME Digiface, as it would be overkill.
Many thanks,
John Stafford

Any quality loss by using SPDIF?
Is there any quality loss by transferring digital information via an RCA SPDIF connection?
The reason I ask is because I want to take in 10 inputs at once on my digi 002 at 96k.
I was planning on going from a Rosetta's RCA SPDIF output into my 002.

Problem : Two separate pres, each with SPDIF out, Only 1
Thanks to those folks who helped me with finding a preamp that would have SPDIF digital outs.
I'm using an Aardvark Q10 and I want to make use of the two SPDIF-in tracks available on the unit.
Here's the rub .
Two Channel pre-amp with SPDIF outs for under $1000 - po
I am using an Aardvark Q10 interface for my studio. I would like to take advantage of the two SPDIF tracks available on the Aardvark. Can anyone recommend a reasonably-priced pre-amp that either has SPDIF out built in, or at least an optional card? Thanks.
