Seperating Instruments In The Frequency Spectrum?
Novice mix engineer here.
I want to seperate instruments in the frequency spectrum, so that I have a 'good' EQ in the mix.

Spectral editing
This week I had a very special opportunity to record a wonderful counter tenor in a beautiful recital of Elizabethan and modern song with lute accompaniment. It was a very intimate and special concert with atmosphere to suit. I used a main pr of Schoeps MK21's and an MK4 support for the lute and guitar.

Cool new mastering plugin spectralive?
Hi all,
This is my first post here (great forum!) and I do apologize if this is in the wrong section. I just purchased a new mastering VST called spectralive, my crappy speakers never sounded better, and it's dirt cheap, anyway just thought it would be helpful for some.
They have mp3 demos but they don't do justice to the the product IMHO.

spectral analysis vs. . reference monitors
I use Cubase SE for my home recording on a G4 iBook, and do not have any good reference system beyond a set of headphones. My question is whether I can use a spectral analyzer to produce a spectral profiile visually representing "good" sound without actually having a good reference system.

Removing fret squeaks from an acoustic guitar track
Is it actually possible to remove fretboard squeaks from an acoustic guitar track after it's been recorded? If so, what kind of technique is employed? Thanks.
Wavelab Spectralizer
I use a PC with Wavelab pretty much exclusively (Sound Forge sometimes, although I like Wavelab better). I really like the spectralizer that comes with Wavelab for adding clarity and definition. I was wondering if there were any other DX pluginsthat do the same thing with more control over the frequency, ie used in the lower harmonics as well the upper ones.
