8 channel preamp/converter, to use as stand alone pre converter and DAW interface

Please i am looking for any suggestion about a good quality audio interface to use as stand alone preamp / converter (lightpipe) for my ALESIS HD24 (8 channel) and as daw interface with logic or Pro Tools on mac book pro, via FW,
is there something around?

How does a standalone converter integrate with a sound card?

I just don't get it: I use and ECHO Layla3G. It has 8 ins and outs and, of course, its own converters. It works and sounds great, but in the relentless pursuit of the golden signal chain, I've always wanted to upgrade to a better set of converters, but I can't wrap my mind around how it would work.

Standalone de-esser...not a plug in

I'm wondering if there are any standalone software programs that competently de-ess a wav file. I don't want to spend the money for a hardware de-esser when I rarely use need it.

I haven't been happy with the embedded software de-essers I've tried in SoundBooth and Sound Forge, but it is probably fair to chalk that up to stupid user error.

what standalone burner to get

Forums

Hi, I am new tody to the forum, so forgive me if this has been answered before. I have a Roland VS 2400CD, and I love it, but I bring the songs into a Tascam CD-RW750 which totally crashed on me, and I have no way to get the multitrack hooked into the computer, so I am stuck with buying another standalone burner. I would like to get a recommendation on brand and model numbers.

Stand-alone DAW to Computer - Make any sense?

Greetings all,

Just joined because I thought I could get some good advice on a recording setup I'm contemplating. I have a stand-alone Yamaha AW2816 Digital Audio Workstation which is OK, but I don't care for the mixdown and CD Burn process. I was thinking about getting an audio interface for my G4 Mac Mini and using the Yamaha to record the tracks, then mixdown to the computer.

running a drum program into a standalone daw?

i have a question regarding using a drum program on a mac as a standalone and running it into a standalone daw, such as a boss 1200. i have tried in vain for some time now to use Cubase to no avail, and have since decided go the boss daw recording route..computer recording is not my thing. now I'm wondering can i run battery 3 (drum program) and my midi controller as a standalone into a daw?
