tweaking synth-piano
Hey there,
I'm mixing a singer-songwriter track that was recorded at another facility. The whole piece is voice, guitar, and piano. The voice and guitar sound great and were recorded well. The piano, however, was apparently played off of an inexpensive Yamaha synth and, well, it sounds like it. Unfortunately, the piano is also the dominant instrument in the song.

Digital Piano / Synth
I'm looking into purchasing a digital piano or synthesizer in the $300.00 - $400.00 (max) price range. I'm looking for something that has a quality piano sound and something that has quality string sounds. I know this probably sounds impossible at this price range but any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

Midi interface keyboard/synth?
OK, I have an M-Audio midi interface that is like a keyboard. It hooks up through the USb port on my computer. What I am looking for now is software that will emulate a typical keyboard on the computer. I pretty much want to learn how to play piano with my midi controller. Is there a software out there I can use, or do I need to get some external device and use that?

Recording Synths: Effects...Yes or No?
I'm fishing-for and sharing ideas concerning recording synths.
I've been playing around a lot lately with recording synths. Many of the synthesizers today come with their own built in effects and they make the patches sound oh so pretty. In many cases, the effects make the sound.

Preamps (for mic's and synth's etc.)
Hello..
Now that i just purchased my FW 1804 I thought to my self that the sounds I'm getting could be better. ( this could be because i was listening to how good the guitars and vocals sound on the JOHN MAYER track) I know this could have been done by mastering ..

Roland XP-30 Synth
I've had this thing for about 3 years and love it. I'm just wondering if anyone has some sound paches I could use with brass and strings. I find that I'm lacking in fullness with these 2 sounds. Any help on how to setup the XP-30 to be more full in brass and strings would be great. IE> Sounds I should mix together etc...

What's the best voice synth/vocoder software for Windows?
Hello,
Is there software that will synthesize robotic voices like the Protoss, "Zealot" from the pc game, Star Craft and also the Decepticon, "Soundwave" from the animated series, The Transformers?
Do you know if they used software synths to do their voices, or hardware synths :?:
newbie question about amplifying synths.
Sorry if this is really basic, but if I got hold of a synth like a Korg MicroKorg , would I be able to plug it straight into my marshal guitar amp?
Thanks in advance.
