Our church choir normally performs using CD music tracks. What is the best way to record them live without too much bleed from the CD tracks in monitor speakers? (These recordings would be used for archival purposes or shut-ins, not for resale purposes.) Some added info:

I have recently begun upgrading my studio with some better preamps (seventh circle) and converters (ISA428 card) and for some reason my 30 year old teac 2-track recorder has escaped my eye untill now.

So i just purchased a reel for my 388 tape deck and also have a Tascam fw-1804 as my interface what runs to my nuendo setup. I was curious to know how can i use my Tascam 388 to optimize the sound of my recordings by either tracking it in the Tascam or tracking it to my nuendo first.

Currently I'm using a simple chain of vst-effects to create masters from my mixdowns.

- Kjaerhus GEQ parametric Equalizer
- (optionally) some reverb or stereo basis enhancement
- and PSP Vintage Warmer with a Compressor/Limiter setup

I'm going to record my band, and I want to get some oh so sweet tape sound. Without going into detail I'm using a Yamaha DM2000, a Digidesign I/O 192 and I have a Teac 80-8 and a Ampex ATR 800 at my disposal.
