I'm saturating the input of my UTC transformer direct box
Hi, Being the electronics novice that I am, I actually put together a really great sounding direct box for my recording basses (passive and active) using a UTC transformer 30hz-20k response, +8db, 50k secondary, 150/250/600 primary. I prefer the UTC's 150ohm output into my LA610 mic input.
Transformerless cardioid condenser choice
I see there are a lot of 'what mic should I buy' questions here, so apologies in advance for yet another one...

Using a step down transformer with equipment from the US
It can often be quite difficult (and pricey) to purchase goods in Australia.
AVALON M5 w/Jensen Transformers
Anyone ever compare the stock M5 with the one outfitted with Jensen Transformers? I used to have one of the latter, but it got completely destroyed. I recently got a standard one (without the Jensen transformers) and I can't help but feeling the like the jensen model sounded a bit brighter and bigger. Also, how much does it cost to get a standard m5 outfitted to include the jensens?

Use 8-Ch Power Amp as a Headphone Amp (Transformers?)
What's up?
I just picked up a Lectrosonics PA-8 8-Ch Power Amp for peanuts on eBay. It is a 6w x8 @ 8Ohm, or 10w x8 @ 4Ohms power amp of very high quality. http://www.lectrosonics.com/lecnet/pa8.htm (Retail over $1300)
Compressor Died, I need a new transformer
I have a dbx 266XL Compressor. I found out that the transformer died. Does anyone know if I can get a replacement at a electronics store, or do I need to get one from dbx?
The transformer model reads:
Billion
26-0245-A
E2-41BTF--SS1-0057
I could find no company on the net named "Billion" that makes transformers.

Sebatron . Mediocre input transformers?
I've been reading up a bit on the Sebatron VMP-4000e quite a bit lately (I'm considering buying one) and I've come across some reviews that say the input transformers on these units are not as good as they should be. Is this true and if so how much would it cost to upgrade the transformers?

New Sebatron vmp4000e owner -- Noisy transformer?
Hello,
Stepdown 240-120V transformer.. Kev, any help?
Hi,
Kev sorry I'm turning to you in specific again but you're a fountain of knowledge when it comes to things electrical... and I don't know much about the electrical/electronic side of things..
I've just bought myself an OzAudio HM-6 headphone amp from US; it uses an internal transformer, I have contacted OzAudio (nice guys!) and they say it wants 120v.
JLMs newest version of the TMP8 (transformer mic preamp)
I just finished a tracking session with some of the local kids (I call them kids, they're like 21 and 22) while using some of the gear I have been sent to review.
