Building a single channel variable U-Pad

I read up on pads of various kinds, and I want to design a single channel variable pad for use between a microphone and the preamp when recording drums. The preamp in question is the channel preamp of the RME Fireface 800, which has an input impedance of 2k. Here is what I want to do. I will build an external enclosure with XLR in and out mounted to it.

Mojave MA-300 - Remotely controlled, continuously variable polar pattern selector

I'm looking over the Mojave website and see they have their new MA300 online now. What I see different is the remotely controlled, continuously variable polar pattern selector.

Anyone know what this means exactly?

Variable speed change for audio

I've spent a lot of hours trying to figure this one out but no luck so far.

I'm editing a short film with a camera movement that speeds up really fast, almost stops and goes in slow motion and finally speeds up again at hits something. I want to illustrate this in the sound design. So I want to speed up a reverse/woosh sound and slow it down at the appropriate places.

VARIABLE BITRATE

ok, so I've always coverted my sh*t to constant bitrate 320kbps 44khz

variable just didn't sound like it would be better because I associate the word with being inconsitent.

but I decided to look into it today for the hell of it and read that variable is actualy better quality and only choose constant bitrate if you want to keep the file size smaller. .
