Hello!

In terms of sound, what are the major differences between Trident B series, Neve 1073 and Neve 1081 preamps?

Also, I think that 1081 doesn't have phantom power, am I right? What's the solution to this?

Thanks for your help.

Well i would not complain with any of them!!!!

they are both from the 'Goldent Age' of transistor based audio.

Have not used a B range b4 so i cant say but know of many who have, and they were not comlaining. B ranges had some serious gain stage and summing issues on their consoles but as modules they are fine.

Well you cant go worng with any sort of 10XX series modules form the neve family. The 1073 are the king daddy class A jobs while the 1081 has the A/B output stage with more comprehensive Eq which for drums can be a godsend, but gee if you cant pull good tones with any of these pre/eq modules.... Look for another vocation cos they take the guesswork out of the equation and make dumb-ass engineers with no idea look half pro!!!

But you should use ya ears over everything else that we morons post up here....Cos you may not actually like them ( GASP!!!!!!! summary execution following!)Its just the selection you have asked about are the best and my most favourite pre/eqs on earth so have fun and let us know how it goes... :w:
