It is a stereo ADDA converter with an amazing quality.AS good as the roseta.Just A little,little less lowend.You can not hear it only mesure it.

Fletcher did a shootout of Apogee vs Lynx over at Gearslutz I believe. His summary, different but neither one was better. The Lynx won out on the midrange to upper end, the Rosetta were not as clear in this zone but they had a tighter low end.

Pardon my memory but that is what I took from his message.

I am just sugesting a better alternative option.The diferance between the RMEs and the apogees and lynx is not huge.Like I set a litle low end digerancve.WhIch for guitar is not a big deal.

Any idear how that RME ADA compares to their Multiface? I've been looking at getting something like that or an older Apogee to use with my Multiface.

Well the adi-2 has better SNR and less dist then the MULTIFACE and it is 192kHz if you care about that.
I too have the multiface.
Wait 2 months for the MULTIFACE II.

I think they have a secret at RME.I asked numbers of times for info at RME forum....BUT.no answer..

"The AK4620A supports the playback feature for direct stream digital (DSD) data, allowing switching on the DAC side between PCM and DSD data. The DAC side boasts further improvements in AKM’s advanced multi-bit architecture and achieves a virtually flat noise floor up to 80 kHz for PCM data."

So my guess is......The new MULTIFACE II WILL WORK WITH DSD.

You never know...But I think if RME uses that chip,they will want to explode on the market with the first DSD computer interface unit.
