Alrighty,
This has gone on long enough. One of my machines has been dumping random samples for a while now. If you zoom in on the wave form you see a break where the signal drops to zero for one sample. Not a huge deal but it makes for extra work in editing.
So my question is: WTF is causing this? It's a Dell dimension 4100 with 256 MB RAM, Win 98, running Sound Forge XP, on an Echo Mia. We did a barebones install of the system. Ripped every single unnecessary piece of software out of there. It is connected to a network but there's never any activity on that machine while there's a session running.
Any ideas? Thanks.

I'll chunk through the optimizations and let you know what happens. The drivers are the latest. I'll check again but I'm pretty sure I updated them not too long ago.
Thanks!
Could be several things... One, Win98!!! C'mon! Upgrade to XP

One, Win98!!! C'mon! Upgrade to XP!!! :D
Could be that Win98 is not optimized and something, possibly network talk, could be interrupting it!
Have you updated to the latest drivers for the Echo card?
Go through my Win98 optimization document on my website.
