Help me---what is session?

What I got from searching is a USB m-audio session microphone. Is that what you refer to? If this is your item then USB and drivers that pertain to that are your most logical area to figure out.

I am not familiar with recording software that goes under the title session.

As a point of beginning, if it were my issue, I would unplug every item attached to the computer that runs via usb.

Naturally if a keyboard and/or mouse use usb you would require them to remain plugged in.

After I did all these things then I would plug the mic in and go from there.

This reads like it is an on going concern, something is changing over a period and the software works. Then something changes and it doesn't work again.

As an aside, I do not have vista software nor a usb mic. But I do use windows and I have run a usb device or two :)

Space thanks for the information. Yes I have unplugged every thing , other then what i need to run windows. Finally called M-audio tecs, waited allmost 2 hours on the phone before they came online. Must not be the only one having problems :o . They told me the only thing I might try is to get a self powered usb card and try it. What do you think about that. Anyway I have contacted HP for a selfpower usb card if they think I need one. You would think the box the software came in would state that you need a selfpower usb port, maybe they forgot to add that little note. :) Thanks again for you help, I think you were pretty close for figureing out this problem.
