Linux Compatibility for Sonar 8.5 Producer's

Many moons ago, I won a contest from recording.org for a copy of Sonar 8.5 Producer's edition. I have been happily running the software on a Windows 7 desktop.

That machine has gone on to a better place so now I am putting together a new desktop. I am looking into running a Linux system (but may just do a dual OS install for audio).

A look into Cakewalk's support and a general internet search has yielded not much information at all at whether or not Sonar 8.5 Producer's is compatible with any Linux OS?

electronic music producer looking for a vocalist

Hey everybody,

I'm a producer of various genres of electronic music, but I mainly focus on progressive and electro house.

I recently finished a track: that I think would go great with a vocalist. (The first verse would probably start at 30 seconds in after the intro)
If you're interested in collabing, you can hit me up at itsromosx@gmail.com

New Music Producer Contracts Question

Hey Guys! I recently started producing music for a couple artists and am wondering what the best way to go about getting contracts is.
As well as producing the music for the artists, I am also going to be producing music videos for them and will be managing them also. Do I need 3 separate contracts for this? Also, the artists are under the age of 18. Does it complicate things with them being minor do to them not being able to sign the contract? Do I get their parents to sign their contracts? But what is to stop the contract from being void when they turn 18?

Dan Martin-Hall - Producer

Hey guys. I've decided to try and make a name for myself as a producer. I've been fortunate enough to get a lot of help from you guys and a lot of encouragement to and I've decided to really go for it. I'm going to write and produce my own album and get a bunch of people to guest on it. You know how hard it is to stand out though and for all the times people have tried to tell me I am special, this is the first time I am going to try and put some faith in myself. Unfortunately for you lot (;D) I would like to ask for some help in a simple format.

Artist + Producer/Songwriter Contract

Help, please! :)

What kind of contract do I need to gain the rights to a master recording from the producers & songwriters? I know there are publishing contracts (only if a publisher is involved) and then producer contracts. But what do I need to cover the producer & songwriter and set the royalties split. Or will a producer agreement PLUS a songwriter agreement cover everything I need? So the songwriter agreement sets out the split and then the producer agreement will give us the rights to the master?

Thanks!

contacting producer/composer

Hey all

I am new here. I am getting mixed answers on a few questions.

I am a heavy metal singer and I sort of know 1 composer/producer who writes stuff not only for his band but for side projects.
How would I approach him to find out if he could use my voice? What do I need to do? Get a demo? I know they will come down here by end of the year.

thanks

FAQs a made to a recording studio owner/producer during the negotiation

Hello experts. I want to know what bands/artists/producers ask to recording studio owners (or in-house producers) during negotiations to hire recording services. What do they ask you?

Just to lay some foreground to this post, I recently set up my project studio and would like to be ready for the questions that my prospects will ask. We're mainly focused on producing music, rather than commercials, or narrated material.

So, what do prospects generally ask for?
During negotiations, what should I watch out for?
