What's up peeps?
1st of all thanks for the doubling effect advice, it was most helpful. Well, with one problem solved another one always emerges. Check it out, I just bought a pair of Behringer's Truth monitors and soon as I hooked it up whether it be thru headphone amps, the mixer, or straight to computer, I starting hearing this continous buzzing sound (that same sound you get when you are on a cordless phone and the lines happen to cross). Is my laptop letting off some rays or something interfering with everything? Assuming it was the laptop, I start moving the monitors around and I still couldn't get rid of it. The strange thing about this, is when I start wiggling the mouse it stop and starts back when I stop. Hey, y'all I need some help.

Trouble shooting 101:
Turn off everything else in the room. Lights too. Disconnect everything from the monitors. Do they still make noise?
If not, hook the monitors back up with everything elses still turned off. Do they make noise now? If not, begin to power up things one at a time until something starts making a noise. That will be your culprit.
If that doesn't work and the monitors make noise when everything is turned off and you first hook them up, then disconect all the pieces of your gear in the chain leading to the monitors and begin to hook it back up starting with the last thing that connects to the speakers and working backward from that point until you hear the noise. In this case, that will be the culprit.
If they still make noise with everything off and they are disconnected, move the monitors to another room and power them up. Do they make noise in there as well? If the answer is "yes", there's something wrong with the speakers and you should take them back to where you bought them.

i had this same problem with my laptop.
try disconnecting the power supply and record off batteries. worked great for me.
ps. the buzzing is not recorded, it is only thru the monitors that i heard it.
pps. might try getting a power conditioner to see if that helps.

hey
sounds like grounding..
is it going from a balanced to unbalanced? Computers generally give out unbalanced so if your monitors are balanced input thats probly the problem..
There's a round it by creating a transformer box. I don't know the exact spec (like what power transformers etc) but its basically 2 apposing transformers with the ground that's now been lifted by simply using sending the signal across the transformer and then taking the earth and disconnecting it.. Sorry sounds vague i'll get some more exact details when i can but thats what it sounds like to me..

Pay attention to your audio cable placement with regard to the laptop's in-line power wart, or whatever it's called. Your cables may be lying too near them. I've had trouble with those in conference room settings inducing nasty, nasty buzz into nearby audio cables of various types. This is also true of wall warts.

Wireless mouse? Cell phone? Anything wireless (including some DSL and Cable modems... some of the new ones have wireless routers built in)?
