Hi,

I've just bought a new computer (P4 2.0Ghz, Asus P4B533, 512 DDR RAM, 2 WD HD) with a RME Multiface + HDSP PCI Card. Maybe this question is a little premature since I just built the damn thing :) but anyways : When I have a midi track running with output routed to halion and i want to record some guitars with let's say 6ms latency i get these regular cracks when i hit record..anyone know what the problem is ? 2nd question is : when i record my acoustic guitar pickup it gives really volume, my guitar won't go any louder is this normal ?

Thanks,
SNP

Well, if you have two interfaces hooked up they need to be clocked together in order for them to be synchronous. Send word clock from one to another and that should take care of the pops and clicks or crackles or the rice crispies!!
As far as your Accoustic guitar volume...you need a direct box or someway of boosting the gain..simply plugging into the interface won't get you the signal you so desire

Well, the pickup on the accoustic can not drive a line level signal powerful enough to get a good signal without some sort of pre amp after it...that's why. It's just like plugging a synth or electric guitar without any gain staging. It's simply a low level signal that needs to be boosted.
As far as the Multiface issue I would make sure you have all the latest firmware updates for it..I know they came out with one a few months ago that truly fixed the Midi issues they were having before.
