I am considering buying a Yamaha 01v, but I just noticed something that may be a problem. So far, the 01v looks good as a remote controller for Nuendo, and as a decent preamp for some mics, and Ok for an external stand-alone mixer, but the specs seem to indicate that the 01v has a 20-bit D/A converter. I am wondering if this would pose a problem for someone trying to take advantage of 24-bit resolution. Would the 01v be a bottleneck in the digital signal path, or is there a way to route the analog input signals from the mic preamps on the Yamaha and then around the A/D converters and out to the inputs on my Layla (essentially staying analog through the mixer)? Just curious.

Don't get caught up with the bit thang, trust your ears! The 01
Don't get caught up with the bit thang, trust your ears! The 01V sounds great even for a 18/20 bit mixer. You won't hear the difference IMHO.
