Hi,
I don't know if this is the right category to post this thread on but i'll take the chance.
So, my band's drummer need a sampler to use for live situations. We have a few sounds that needs to be reproduced when we play live.
The sampler can not have the need of being connected to the computer while playing the sounds, so basically it will need to have the function of letting you put your own sounds/samples into the sampler, if that makes sense. So it can work independently without the help of a computer.
Does anyone know if the Machine or Machine Mikro can do this? Or do you have other suggestions? I know Roland has something, right?
Thank you!

Looks like you can have your own sounds imported through the SD card. Thanks, i'll check it out.
Keep suggesting, i want to know all of the possibilities there are!

I used an MPC 60 for live work for over a decade. It never failed once in 3,400 performances. If you can find a used Akai / models 2000 to 4000, and you midi it to a pad, I think that would rock. They are built for the road.
Or, any midi sampler and a pad for that matter is what I would be looking at.

To add, choose a sampler that is easy to see and edit during breaks. Choose something that is ideal for the person editing it most. I edited my samples after each break until I had them just right.
Also, The more independent outs, the better. You want kicks, snare and sub freq samples on separate outs! Stereo outs are ideal for toms and special effects.
I currently use an Akai Renaissance for the studio. But its computer hosted.

Thanks for the tips.
I found out that the Machine won't help me, although it's a device i would like to have in my studio!
The Alesis SamplePad that ''pcrecord'' wrote about is the perfect solution for our situation. We only need our own samples in one or two songs and the 4 pads will do it! + it's very easy to put your own samples in these through the SD card. It's perfect, thanks guys.
