Hello there :-)
Just finishing the plans for a new studio and wondering about something :
What is your personal opinion ? as the recording engineer, better to put headamp in control room to change the level myselffor the musician, or to put headamp in recording room and let the musician change the level himself ? What are your experiences ?

I have mine in the studio so that the musician can change the level him/her self. However, I can also change the level from inside the control room. This comes in handy with those musicians that MUST have the headphone mix as LOUD as humanly possible. Often, it's too loud and it bleeds into head phones. This way, I can turn it down from the control room and in my best Scottie voice state "I'm giving her all I've got Captain!"
