I like the Audix D6 on kick. And I use at least one condensor mic on the drums. It helps me get a BIG bright sound.
How about the Senn 421 on toms
and a SM57 on snare

Depends on your budget. I'll assume low.

Kick= Sennheiser e602
Snare= SM57
Toms= Sennheiser e604's
Overs= Rode Nt-5's

Cheap and good.

If you have a good room, good drummer and know how to tune the drums, you've got a very good start to a good drum sound.

kick- AKG D112 or Audio Technica ATM25

snare- SM57 or if you can afford it Beyerdynamic M201

O/H- Studio Projects C4's or B1's are even pretty good, Groove Tubes Gt-44 if you can still get them cheap at Guitar Center are excellent.

toms- e604 or MD421 or Studio Projects B1's are great on rack toms and B3 on floor tom.

Of course, it does depend on the music that you're recording...

but for rock genres try

AKG 461's or c1000's for HH and OH (ORTF)

For Kicks - D112's, Audio Technica AE2500 (slappy) or Apex 125 (Hard Rock, Metal & double kick)

SM57's are a studio must have!
Great on snare & toms. (And even OH for Hard Rock)
MD421's.

KelAudio's can work as well.
