Hi. I'm thinking of buying a new microphone to record rappers. I have a Great River ME-1NV preamp and a Distressor. I want a C800G because I've heard that microphone and like its clarity. I can't really afford the price tag so do you know any other microphones that have similar character?
I'm thinking about brauner valvet or phantom C for the clarity aspect...but I don't know about the tones. Does anyone have any other suggestions. Cheers

the brauners are too spitty sounding for rappers they won't have the balls you need to really get a rapper to sound right. i have a gefel mt-70 at my place that does almost all of our rap vocals and they sound big and clear without soumding small and harsh like when we uwed the brauner
