Is the buzzing mechanical or in the audio? Those Avid devices have pretty crude high voltage generators, and they can take a toll on the bulk smoothing caps around the HV generator. By high volts, I mean in the 10s.

The buzzing is definitely from the high voltage driver for the touch display panel. It takes in 12vdc and puts out 120vac.

After changing the HV driver... no joy. I think it might be the touch screen itself, but do you think I could find a V1 screen......no chance... long gone. Anyone know of a supply anywhere?

Avid has always offered a generous upgrade policy. Most of their products go back to them so I suspect it could be why you don't see much older Avid/ pro tools gear/ parts sitting around. Do you think this could have anything to do with why you can't find the part yet?

This AVID eating another company and not want to carry the cost of legacy product inventory. The problem with custom touch displays is ...they are custom. ;) Only made to order.
