...there are many other tube mics costing less than the Solidtube that are better value...IMHO the MXL V69 & V77, RODE NTK and Studio Projects T3 are just a few...of course, that's personal preference, but the Solidtube doesn't seem to get great reviews, especially considering it's price...

I brought one not long after it first came out and there wasn't nearly as much choice as there is now. I agree that it isn't the best mic in the World but it's still pretty good. I still find it very usable and not many bands go through the studio where I don't use it on one thing or another.

I've used it on Loud Screaming HardCore vocals before with good results (a little saturation).
