Hard drive Formating help needed please!

Hi

I bought a hard drive(Avastor HDX)and I'm using a pc.
I havent reformated it yet to work with my pc cos Im recording a session soon on my friends Mac and I need to format this hard drive so it will open up the Pro Tools session off the Hard drive instead of saving them to his hard drive as the sessions are pretty huge.I know about the Transfering PT sessions on the Pro Tools reference guide but i want to know
whats the best format and way to format my hard drive as first i will be using it on my pc and then opening the PT sessions on a Mac.
Any help would be very sweet.

Can't you just try to read/write before your format? I am also curious what format they use. I think it will be FAT32 . To my knowledge that's the only way to grant both XP/Vista and OSX read and write.

MAC will read both NTFS and FAT32 but can not write NTFS. It ne

MAC will read both NTFS and FAT32 but can not write NTFS. It needs to be FAT32, Use get info in MAC or right click --> properties in XP and find out how it is formated. The drawback of FAT32 is that it can not handle files larger than 4GB
