Hey guys,
I need to purchase a mixer, currently i have a Tascam M2516, (its not mine, kinda borrowing),
The first brand that popped in my head was Mackie,
but I'm curious to know what the "big boys" are using these days. I have considered a digital console, but I love the simplicity of analog gear (not that digital is difficult, just a matter of getting used to it), besides I like the fact that there is at least one item in my studio that aint digital and doesnt have a screen on it!
A mate of mine recently purchased a Yamaha digital console, its great but I'd rather have all the channels sitting in front of me rather than flipping, etc. I dunno, i just like everything layed out in front of me.
It definatley has to be an eight bus.
well, any suggestions (analog or digital) would be appreciated!
cheers,
Sammyg

I went through the same dilemma a while back andended up buying a Behringer MX9000 analog console.
It's basicall a clone of the Mackie 24 channel 8 bus mixer but the meter bridge is included.

yeah, im not too keen on the behringer, I work at a retail music store and i see way too many coming back for repair, their signal to noise ratio isnt as good either. Their price is though!
plus, once i opened up one of their "tube composers", I couldnt believe my eyes, not even a quater of the inside had something in it, it was mostly empty! Hope im not offending you, just telling what i saw. I appreciate your reply though, cheers
Uncle Bob:
