Howdy...!
You kind folks have helped me in the past when I was setting up my home recording studio, and now I have a problem that I can't get "Point Blank" answers to.
I have XP, and Creative SB X-FI Gammer sound card.
The problem started with You Tube.
However, I have noticed it in other WMV videos.
While viewing a music video, The audio would stop and a squealing, clicking sound would be all I could hear for a minute then the audio would come back.
I've tried differant codec downloads, including WMV codecs, and nothing helps, infact it has gotten to a point that it's very irritating...!
I have went as far as deleting the sound card's drivers and re-instaling them from Creative's download site.
Anyone?
Thanks a zillion...!
Walt

Check the sampling rate on the card's driver. Windows can be set to play default at higher rates than 44.1/16 bit. Perhaps it has been accidently set to 48/24 or 96/24 or something.
