I've been looking into one of these kits...
(Dead Link Removed)
The shell sizes are just what I'm looking for, and the price is right. Mainly, this kit would be for club gigs and occasional recording. Anyone have a story to tell about these drums? ANDY

Actually, they're saying the shells are mahogany, but whatever!
Actually, they're saying the shells are mahogany, but whatever! I have a few killer snares to choose from. Mainly, I love my ancient Fibes fiberglass shell snare. Yeah, most important is a thumping kick for the music I do now, and nice toms (I like the words "warm" and "thick" to describe tom sounds!). I have the snare covered, so, cool. If I don't hear any major gripes about these drums, I'll pick them up after Christmas. ANDY
These low cost birch kits by Gretsch actually sound quite nice.
These low cost birch kits by Gretsch actually sound quite nice. The snare is the weak link, but the toms and kick sound pretty killer.
I've been reading about an $6-700 Ludwig kit...can't remember the name...but I hear that one kicks ass too. I'll find out an post the model.
