i recently did a live recording of an a cappella group in a large hall. There is a lot of natural reverb on the recording. In order to bring the soloist out in the image a little more, i was wondering if there is a way to reduce the reverb on his one track ? Anybody know of anything out there that can do this?

I think you may achive some success by applying a gate to the solo track to reduce the reverb tail.
A downward expander as AudioGaff recomended, is basically the same thing as a gate but allows you to controll how many dB you want to attenuate the offending reverb tail.
When you have the soloist's track on by itself, it may sound a bit chopped off but once you mix this in with the other tracks, it might be acceptable. It will take a bit of poke and hope but I have a good feeling that you may be able to achive what you are after ..
Good Luck, Kurt Foster

Nope. You may have some luck with a high quality downward expander, but don't get your hopes up.
