Hi,
I recently installed Cakewalk's Sonar 2.0 XL but I am having trouble using Revalver.

Can I only use revalver on a midi track, b/c when i set it to audio - and i click input it only shows 'revalver output' and i can't record.

Basically, do I have to plug my guitar into my line and record on midi to use Revalver? Can't I use the line in and use the audio track and use Revalver?

P.S - what does midi omni mean - i just want to record my guitar into my computer - do I have to worry about midi channels and other midi stuff?

Hey yoyoma,

I was curious about your post, so I just fired up my Sonar 2.2XL (remember to get the updates...if you haven't). I know that Sonar "sees" revalver as a DXi, but I wasn't sure why you were seeing midi stuff.

In any case, I dropped down my "in" menu and saw all the inputs from my sound card there.

Although I didn't do it, presumably I could just choose an input, plug in my guitar and bang away and revalver would work.

I'd done it before....which is why I was curious...but I hadn't checked recently....it was fine.

Midi has nothing whatsoever to do with you and your guitar...and so I'm curious why you were wondering about midi omni.

BTW- Midi omni on the inputs only means that the program will read midi information coming in on any midi channel...if you selected midi 1, say, then only information arriving on midi channel 1 would be read.

So the answer to your question is: No, you don't have to worry about midi and that stuff.

I'm not sure where your problem is originating from though....

This is going to sound dumb: Do you have a sound card?

The reason I ask is because those inputs should be appearing in the "input" section (a drop down menu) of the track.

How are you loading revalver? By right clicking the fx section of an audio track? Or are you loading it through the DXi rack (preferred method)?

Do you see any audio inputs in the input section of an audio track?

Let me know, and I'll see if I can get you up and running.

Kev.
