How many Mics for the guitar without getting problems with the phase. I've heard that some guys use mics with the off axis to the speaker/Cabinet or behind the Cabinet(?).Did anybody try that?
Yeah I did.... it was an extra sm57 above the Cabinet(4speaker/quad box to us Australians) and in line with the front baffle .... sm57 in the normal position and a condenser room mic out front at about 6 feet.... All three ended up in the blend, it was cool.
Loud rock .. power cord and lead guit sort of thing. Don't think I have done it since???? been recording woosy guitars I guess.
At the end of the day stuff the rules and just do it. ;)
