Ok guys, I tried a seach but came up empty. Here goes...
without all the why questions... how do i run 12-16 simultaneous analog inputs into a pro tools tracking session without buying a unobtainable board?
With cubase, I just run everyone through my Tascam US1641 and it works like a charm.
I am starting "school" and will be switching to a macbook pro, pro tools rig. I should get better audio quality this route I hope as well. I DO NOT want to lose the full band with acoustic drums capability I have now as I do demos for local christian bands.
Can I stack two Digitech Factory 003 rack rigs and daisy-chain them? Any ideas/solutions are welcome. I know that pro tools uses their own interfaces so I am limited to what's out there (which is why I went PC/Cubase in the first place)
Answers? Working setups? anyone?

You can get a set of preamps like the RME Octamic II or the disc
You can get a set of preamps like the RME Octamic II or the discontinued Onyx 800R and run them via ADAT into a Digi 003. To the best of my knowledge you cannot chain two 003's together. You could always track with your Tascam and then import those into a Protools session. Unless you are sending more than 8 analog outs to analog sum or whatever, an 003 would still work for you to get your Protools rig.
