Ok...The Altec, while being an older audiofile type of device and in apparently good condition, is still an OLDER audiofile device.If you are unable to tweek it yourself or are unwilling to have it maintained on a regular basis then I think this would not be the unit for you.They sound nice and grainy and the transformers do their job as far as that warm and in-yer-face sound and presence...The Sebatron would be a NEW unit with a warranty and new readily available components should there be a failure of some kind.It also is transformer based and will give you that warm in-yer-face presence. In short, its a matter of maintainence.
