hey guys, i am using the vst plugin amplitube le, and I arm the track and press the monitor button and set the effect the way i want it, and it sounds great live. but when i try to record it, the playback sounds different, and undesirable. in order to hear the audio playing back, i have to depress the monitor button. Is something not routed properly? i have no idea what i am doing wrong, all i know is that the sound is different after i press the record button.

When playing live I am going to assume that you are using an amp
When playing live I am going to assume that you are using an amp and speakers. Try recording the sounds through the same amp and speakers. Your "pushing" the amp and, of course, the speakers are moving air. I don't care how advanced technology gets, there is never anything like the real thing, whether it's a Strat and a Marshall, a Hammond with Leslie, or three guys blowing their hearts out on a trumpet, a 'bone and a sax.
