h 3000

I think the Eventides are very easy to use. At the most it might take the average person 2 maybe 3 weeks to feel comfortable with how to make it work with your taste.
Well Gaff could be right on that one. Sorry, I personally own a new DSP 7000. I love it for verbs! But it also set me back about $3500 or so with all the cables and memory card.
:(

thanks guys- I think this is going to have to be another el-cheepo purchase for me.The new units are nice but way to much $$$$ so I wasa thinking of something thats great but USED.Something i can save some cash on and at the same time get a quality reverb maybe without all the features of the newer models.Right now im using the alesis quadraverb

lexicon

I got a used Lexicon MPX 1 for around $300. They are $700 new. From what I understand, it uses the same reverb DSP chip (lexi II)as the pcm 81. So the reverb is not anything less in quality than any of their PCM products.
It just does not have as many editing capabilities and no expansion card slot. Which will save you between $500 and $700 right off the bat.
I like the delays on it also. The verbs are very easy to find something useful on many of the presets. And I constantly compare it with a side by side comparision of my Eventide DSP 7000.
Its no 7000. But it is damn good.
Hope you get something you like.

I would strongly suggest that you are going to get a Lexicon to not sell yourself short and get the good stuff. The MPX1 is not what I call good stuff or in the same league as the PCM70, PCM80, PCM90 and all the models above those. I wouldn't go any lower in quality than a PCM90 if you want a real good dedicated main reverb.

processor

Only voice processor I know of are the Eventides. They have awesome micro pitch patches, and awesome reverbs. But for $700 - $1000 you might could get a lexicon PCM (any) off of ebay.
However it wouldnt do harmonization or micro pitch shifting. Which to me is the voice processor aspect.

if your main need is great reverb, then the PCM90 is as good as it gets for under $1000. If you need or want more, then I suggest either another unit that has both great reverb and other great effects or to get something like the PCM90 and then add anoter unit latter. either way, it is gonna take more than $1000 to get the best of both reverb and otrher effects. I guess you maight even down scale to something like a TC Mone or just something like a used TC M2000 or used Eventide DSP4000 which is still an awesome unit even to this day..
