Hi all:

I need to pick the mind of someone!

I have an EMU APS since new ( 6 years) and to be honest, never had a moments trouble with it. I have used it with various editing software, my favourite being Adobe audition. For any one thats used it, the APS is easy to use, and you can record more than one channel at once similtanously using the mix icon on the mixer effects control panel.
Now my problem is that all this has suddenly stopped, and i can only assume because i have changed my operating platform to XP pro, now i have to use the windows volume controls to record and only one channel at a time. and when i click on the mixer effects control panel on the desktop the computer knocks itself off and reboots. I appreciate that this hardware is 6 years old and was not probably meant to work with xp pro but i have had no replies from EMU and i am at a loss as how to solve my problem> in that i need to use the mixer effects panel for dual recording! Oh and BTW a lot of stuff i use needs xp pro and the computer runs better generally, so I cant really change the OS

I would appreciate anyones help

Thanks in advance

What do you need from E-MU? You have have identified the problem and answered your own question. The APS wasn't meant to run under XP. It is likey that the drivers don't work correctly under XP and they never will. The APS is an obsolete product and I'd be willing to bet that E-MU is not about to be doing any further development on it or any other obsolete product.

You either go back to your previous working OS, or you update to a newer product. E-MU has new desktop products, which by the way are great kick ass products offering fantastic value, performance and price.

Hi thankyou for your answer, and to be honest was probably expecting that kind of reply, but was hoping for something else.

You mention some other kick ass products, I would appreciate a bit of guidance!! or simply a recommendation

Thanks
