First let me apologize if this has been posted a lot, I searched, but I am not a professional in this area (so I don't know exactly what to look for), I am just asking this for a friend who is.
I would like to know what is your recommendation for a basic (but good) setup for mixing only (recording is made in studio, and tracks are to be edited/mixed in this setup), using Steinberg Cubase.
I reckon that the specs for this are to be inferior than those of a recording setup. So, what I would like to know is of computer hardware (something like http://h10010.www1…"]this[/]="http://h10010.www1…"]this[/]? also would a basic P4 notebook, with an USB 2.0/firewire hard-drive for the audio and an additional screen would also do the trick?). Two screens will always be a must.
Oh, as for the audio part he's got that pretty much covered, it'll be an USB thingy ... You probably know better than me :P

I would say the most important parts of a system for mixing is
a) The acoustics of the space
b) The monitors (audio, not video)
c) The ears
The computer is a computer (for the most part) - as in all things computing, the more horsepower the better. The software has already been chosen, as has the audio interface. It's the bits listed above that will make or break a mix - not the PC you use.
