They are hoping to release it in December which for N. American mean shore side in January. At the same time it is released with all of its new features, Sequoia 13 will also have a patch (free 13.1 probably) with all of the new features too.

Samplitude is as always ahead of the competition and Magix will not reveal any new ProX2 features to keep it that way.

Everyone else will see the new Samplitude ProX2 features in Pro Tools 15 or so

I'm very curious as to what the new version is going to bring - Magix seems to be keeping the details pretty close to the vest; although I can understand not releasing that information until it's time to market it; it only makes sense that you wouldn't want the competition to know all your secrets.... still, I can't help but wonder if Samp won't let a few little bits slip out over the next few months, just to bait the hook, so to speak. LOL

I would assume that a lot of it would be improvements and fixes from existing features on previous versions; but those can't be the only reasons for the update; if it was just patches and/or bug fixes, you wouldn't need a complete version upgrade for that.... so, you'd think that there would have to be certain features in there that would make us want to upgrade. Hmmm.... Melodyne, perhaps? ;)

Unless the newer version's GUI blows me away, I still plan on using the older menu layout from 11. Work flow wise, it makes the most sense, (at least to me, anyway); I find it much easier to navigate around than the newer ProX layout, which seems "clunky" to me... like it's complex for no real reason to be complex.
When I first got into Samp, I found it quite overwhelming. It wasn't until I found out how to revert back to the older style layout that things began to make a lot of sense to me, and much of the complexity and difficulty in the workflow that people ( including myself) had faced, all but disappeared after I switched to the version 11 menu.

Much of this was due to the fact that it became much easier to follow along with Kraznet's awesome youtube instructional videos, because he did much of that instructional work while using 11, but, that's not the only reason he was using 11. I've spoken with him, and even he prefers the layout from 11 over the newer ProX menu style.

Here's my personal wishlist for the upcoming Samplitude upgrade - some things I'd like to see:

The 116 EQ replacing the current 4 band EQ as the stock channel EQ, instead of being available only as an insert/FX option
Improved integration and application of Elastic Audio - or - LOL - include Melodyne. :)
One-Click Track Cloning
Spectral Cleaning/Restoration included with the other existing/stock restoration plugs
More start-up track/project template choices
More FFT EQ Template/Audio Scenario choices

IMHO of course.

I love Canis, looks like a console and works great for me.
There are third party Gui's. Yellowtools I think?

This one has been confirmed

this is stock for Sequoia, so I doubt they will make that stock for Sam.

I'm not talking about the mixer layout, chris. I also use the Canis console GUI and I like it a lot. I was referring to the menu layout for the program.

Pro X 12 ended up "hiding" a lot of their previous functions and menu commands in sub-menus, which were hard to locate when following Kraznet's instructional videos because he used the layout from version 11.
IMO, the menu layout of 11 makes more sense than the most recent Pro X 12 menu...it's easier to find commands because they are organized better.
