I picked up this reverb plug recently: http://www.valhalla…"]ValhallaRoom: $50 – ValhallaDSP[/]="http://www.valhalla…"]ValhallaRoom: $50 – ValhallaDSP[/]

Only criticism I can find is the price is far too low: people might assume the sound is cheap to match. I assure you it isn't!

Highly recommended: give it a try

I highly recommend the trial. Short silence every 45 seconds. It is definately a reverb you can "turn up" and not have it start to sound fake real fast.

Compared to other algarythmic reverbs (DVerb, True Verb, RVerb, most free verbs) you don't get the graininess or synthetic sound of the space as much. Ir's not 100% REAL room sounding, but is is quite smooth and pleasant sounding.

Convolutions can sound as smooth or better but with less tweakability. I highly recomend this, and at $50, it's a no brainer for something you can use for every project.

LOL... wow, they really are on the ball, considering it's only July 14th. ;)

Thanks for the head's up. I'll give it a try.

There are times that I really like and prefer convolution reverbs, if I'm looking for a more "natural" kind of space; but there are times where I prefer reverbs that can give me a more supernatural effect. It depends on what I'm working on at the time.

I've used Pristine Space, Waves IR-L, Altiverb, and a few others, with varying amounts of success. As with any convolution reverb, I've found that they are only ever as good as the reverb algorithms that they have measured, emulated, and included as presets... and on that note, the other thing I've found with them - that so far they all have in common - is that the less tweaking you do to the presets, the better they sound.

IMHO of course. ;)
