I think one of my units seems to be acting up. I fire it up and after a couple a few minutes to warm up it works. After that it will intermittently fade out as if the the phantom power faded out or at least was significantly unper powered since and can still hear a very distorted sounding, but low level signal coming through. When this happens, power cycling the unit corrects the problem.

I have swapped mics and cables to the unit to isolate the cause. I still need to test the cables from the brick to the soundcard inputs. I am monitoring the via the outputs from the sound card so I still have to eliminate the sound card as a cause also. I was just wondering if anyone else had run into this. I have email GT tech support for their opinion as well.

But it sounds like a more serious problem, like a bad cap, transformer or opamp?

GT may have you send it to them but try rolling in new tubes first.

I might try this while I wait. I have several GT 12ax7's around but no 12au7's. The 6026 is a very tiny unit that is hardwired to the board. They will have to deal with that if its the problem.
