Hi all,

I have a project do for school where we have to research buying a computer and I want to put mine together for the specific purpose of music recording. So my question is, if you could put together your "ultimate computer system for recording" what would you have in it? Motherboard, processor, RAM, and other cool accessories like rack mount/shock proof case, dual monitors etc. .

Looking forward to your replies,

These are some discussions we have had over on the DAWworld side...I tried to pick the most informative ones for you to read on...
There is a lot to consider when putting an audio PC together...Chipset compatability(Via vs AMD vs Intel), Processors(Single, Dual and Intel vs AMD)
Motherboards(usually Asus vs Abit...possibly MSI)Video cards are dependant..AGP of course, 16MB minimum and 32MB Maximum!
Hard drives should be ATA100 and 7200RPM...also a SCSI drive or two wouldnt hurt either!
I would definately love to get myself a rackmountable system! Something with a floating motherboard chasis, dual procs of course with 2GB minimum of RAM PC133 with a PIII Coppermine..Dual monitors of course..cant live without it these days!! Appian or Matrox..
Well, I could go on for days here...read some of the past discussion we have had..plenty of info on that here!!
