Is the cost going to go down for a powerbook with Intel chip

Would Intel chips reduce the price of Macs? If yes, by how much? Does anybody have an idea?

Also, is the Apple care plan ($350 or so) worth it especially since there's all these boards to help you out in case of problems?

the reason a powerbook is expensive is that it's great parts in a great design...... and that it worx..... :)

but the ibook are probably the first to get intel..... and they're pretty cheap already....

yep- I paid $800 for my 1.2 mghz ibook at the apple store and its great! Just added 1Gb more memory. The only thing I made a mistake on is that I got the cd only version. $999 would have given me one with a dvd rom which would have been more versitel.
